Supply water abundantly and often during growing season. Reduce water when the pseudobulbs stop growing in late summer. Keep barely moist during the winter.

Newly potted plants should run dryer, but spray often until rooted, then resume normal watering.

Cool, about 50º nights and 70 to 80º days is ideal. Try to get 20 to 25º difference between night and day. Night temperatures between August and October should be 50º to 60º or lower to initiate flower spikes. Cymbidiums are very hardy and can go down in the 30's or up to 90 or 100º occasionally.

Fertilize spring through late summer with high nitrogen fertilizer. In late summer, use a high-phosphorus, fertilizer in order to get good bloom spikes. Fertilize every week or two in summer and winter.

As much light as possible during growth in the summer. Yellowish foliage is okay. When in flower, shade heavily.

Repot about every two years or when bark breaks down, after flowering, but repot only as necessary, as repotting retards flowering generally.
